Re: Luftkompressor
Finally got chance to have a good look round it, apparently the previous owner had a habit of re-painting the tinware on all his engines so I'm not sure what colour to go for as it needs a re-paint due to rust showing on the tank and paint scrapped off elsewhere. I thought about getting the frame/receiver powder coated, should I go with original red or maybe silver or black?.
I did a bit of research on the data plate and from what I can translate the compressor was made in Skara, Sweden then possibly built up as an engine driven compressor by Atlas Copco as "Automan" is one of their ranges.
I don't think the C12 engine is original as the frame baseplate has been crudely slotted with an angle grinder to accommodate the Villiers mountings.
Any suggestions on what to run it on?, needs to be something readily available, Paraffin, Kerosene.

Re: Luftkompressor
Short runs I'd use petrol but if running all day then either kero or paraffin would be ok, you might find a need to add some petrol to the kero to help it run smoother as modern kero/paraffin doesn't work as good as the older fuel.

What sort of Kero/Petrol ratio should I go for?, never had a dual fuel engine before

Re: Luftkompressor
In my Rustons and Petters I normally aim for a 60/40 mix if running lightly loaded or no load, can drop to a 80/20 mix if running on full load, I've found even working hard they like a drop of petrol to help with smooth running.

Maybe you could paint the engine the same colour as the compressor, it seems to be a "hammered" paint finish looking at your photos.
