I am restoring petter A series 1943 air cooled engine. When I stripped it down I noticed there should be a metal plate with a slit in it that the oil scoop passes through. Thing is it does'nt look like the engine has been stripped down before. Does it really need this plate and if so can anyone tell me where I can get one.
