Lister B drain cock
Hi I am in the process of restoring a 1928 Lister B, I need a drain cock for the hopper doe,s any one know what size I should be looking for? also are the fasteners on the engine- nuts, bolts, studs etc a standard fitting, whitworth perhaps? and can any one tell me where I can get copper fuel piping from? Cheers, Pete.

Most of the standard threads on a Lister B are Whitworth.
The pipe threads and drain cock will be BSP.
Copper pipe is readily available at your local caravan shop.
Pipe nuts and nipples are available from vintage motor car suppliers on the web.

Thanks Blue cat the copper pipe that caravan stores sell is to small for what I need but I will check out the classic car suppliers as I hadn,t thought of that, also Normous Newark is coming up shortly so I might get something there. Pete.

I got 6mm (1/4") and 8mm (5/16") pipe and olives from my local DIY shop - they even cut me short lengths from a coil.

Or you could try here:

Nipples and pipe nuts are about 2/3 down the page. They also supply copper pipe.

6mm is approximately 1/4" (not 1/2")
But, apart from convenience, why buy metric when the correct imperial fittings are available.

Re: Lister B drain cock
Oops typo!!, if I had quoted 1/2", then quite correct Blue cat.
I love a pedant except, of course, one who corrects my mistakes.
Having reviewed my post - I wrote 1/4" NOT Half inch - back to you Blue cat

You are the one who has edited your original post (twice) so I'll let the facts speak for themselves.
