Millers Flywheel Magneto

Hi All



I am part way through restoring a Stuart Turner R2 and have just managed to get the inner flywheel off,only to find that a previous owner has removed the coil,condenser and replaced the original points with an inferior set ( and made a mounting plate for them). Could anyone kindly let me know what type of coil,condenser and points I need,and if possible where I can get them from? Thank you.

I will post a pic later showing how it should look. I would say yours has been set up to run off an external mag using those points to fire it, I could t have been run as normal as that metal plate covers most of the mounting points.

Thanks for the photo,it certainly shows the layout of the different components.Now all I have to do is to find the replacement bits!Anyone know where I can get them from?

Hi All,
The inner magnetic flywheel of this unit had been damaged whilst a previous owner had been trying to remove it - it looks like a puller had been used by putting the 'legs' on the outer rim of the flywheel and pulling - this had the effect of 'dishing' the flywheel and cracking the flywheel 'legs' - there must be a lesson in there somewhere! I have been searching for a replacement for some time now without success - it appears that these flywheels are as rare as hens teeth, so have now decided to investigate the feasibility of having the flywheel repaired - I think that the 'dishing' will have to be pushed out,trued up and then welded.
