Wolseley WD8 gasket question
Hi all, I am restoring a WD8 and have got it to the point where I could test it before the paint stripping begins. It has a new copper head gasket and the head bolts have been tightened as far as they will go but I have water leaking from the head. It has been suggested that I put a little sealer around both sides of the gasket, is this normal practise? If it is what sealer would be the best to use?
Many thanks
Julie

Re: Wolseley WD8 gasket question
Julie, A smear of Blue Hylomar on both sides should do the trick. Also, once you have the engine running and hot, tighten the head nuts down again. Billy.

Hi Julie,
I am a few miles down the road from you and have always found the guys at Motor Mart in Queen Street( between the war memorial and the station) to be very good - they should have Blue Hylomar if not they will get it for you,Trago Mills may also have it in their motoring section.Good luck.
Kev.
