the alloy pump casing is a 2 piece so the usually comes away so you can get to rotor that is fixed to the end of the engines crankshaft
alloy and steel+ water over the years makes the need for a very good soaking in diesel or gt40/wd40 ,just the soften up the corrosion between the joints

yeah got the front cover off, just decided that i'll leave it and give the inside of the pump a good clean in situ,
also i need pointing in the direction of a pull rope for it and the air filter bit for the b10 carb.
cheers

and make sure the rubber none return flap is still complete on the front cover inlet hole, otherwise it will be a bugger to get pumping , as you have to fill it to the top manualy with a good flap with 2-3 gallons to get it to start pumping on a good one , but once bleed will pump all day till the waters all gone

filters for b10 b10-1 b10-2 carbs are a bugger to get on there own and cheap
try a company called meetins ,there usually in the stationary engine magazine with a red coloured advert towards the rear of the magazine

do you mean a pull rope or a recoil starter rope ???
