I NEED HELP DATING MY PETTER A1
Hi all,
I recently purchased a peter a1 engine 1.5BHP 750 RPM (engine number: 1544605) and i'm having alot of trouble finding the year it was made and a little bit of history about it. It's currently running but going through a refurbishment and me and my little boy are hoping to rally it in the very near future. We want to put a information sheet up about it at shows so people can enjoy it as much as we do but im stuck on finding any info on it. please could somebody help me with this problem as its become fustrating.
Thanks all,
Kyle.

Re: I NEED HELP DATING MY PETTER A1
Hi Kyle,
I too have a Petter A1. From your engine number I would suggest that it could be anywhere between 1951 and 1967 look here
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Unfortunately there are not many records for Petter A's and you just have to make a rough guess. The engine is rated at 1.5 hp @ 750 rpm (although some are rated at 3hp @ 1500 rpm)
It should be 470cc (28.6 cu in) and should have a Wico magneto. I would record it on your display board as a Circa 1959 until some other evidence appears to be more accurate.
Hope that helps

Hi All,
The best way to get Petter Dating (engines by the way ) is to drop a snail mail to the guy below, Send as much detail as possable with a couple of pics and he can date it and also let you know who it was first supplied to.

SO3 4GP
If you like drop me a line after you have details of your engine i will add it to my list and we can try and get a list going here, I tried on another site but got very little response. if i get a decent response i would publish it on here.
If anyone wishes to be include there engine in the list please feel free to pm me your engine details. At the moment i only want to concentrate on Petter A , and Petter A1, I would probably try and include other Petter engines as time goes on.
Below is what i would like to include;
Seriel No .......
Type ............
Known history .....
Date of birth if known .......
Owner name .........
