Hi All,

Need some expert advice on my Mather & Platt P4C dynamo.

This unit is similar in looks and size to a P8C which can be easily found with Google and is common on many showman’s engines.
I have tried searching online for hours, contacting Mather & Platt, speaking with motor rewind specialists and im having no joy.

My dynamo is marked with the following name plate:
Mather & Platt
CONTINUOUS CURRENT
No 38128 TYPE P4C
220 VOLTS 21.5AMPS 5BHP (when used as a motor)
At the motor shaft end:
108/28 ( could this be unit 108 1928).

Does anyone know if the date code is stamped in the end of the motor shaft?
Any ideas what 220V DC was used for?

Many Thanks,

Tim.
