nothing exciting.
it's another petter a1, this time the 3hp model. i already have the 1.5 and 5hp so i am missing a 3. i am still looking for a petter w1, hens teeth and rocking horse poo, would be easier to find. although when you do find one they want a kings ransom for it. it took me along time to find my fowler pa, so i am used to waiting for the right engine to turn up.

Re: another two new projects.
Engine is looking good Richard, I can't keep up with the 2 Petters you have and your still adding to them I had the chance of a W but it was snatched from under my feet (long story) it was selling for £75 it was bought for less then that and sold the same day for a lot lot more, so called friends for you.
Good luck with the search you know that they will all be miles from you when you do find one.

Re: another two new projects.
Sorry to say but I don't trust that seller now as his ads are never 100% what is for sale and whats not. He seems as if he's trying to advertise everything he has in one advert and never gives a good discription of what is for sale.

a bit of history
i have doing a bit of research on these engines.
petter 5hp, date despatched 05.12.1947 to Walker Bros, Cumberland
petter a1, date despatched 04.09.1947 to R.Yates & Sons, Malton,Yorkshire.
i'm always amazed how some engines only travel a few miles in all their lives, i bought the petter a1 from a bloke in york who said he found it local (malton is only 10 miles from york). this engine has probably travelled less than 75miles in 65 years.

Re: another two new projects.
Very interesting Richard, have you tried to find out what the original owners did as work or are they just farms that had the engines as back up for the dairy palour. My WD8 was new to a farmer near Carlisle and it worked there all it's life till his sons got the engine once the farm was sold and they rallied it for a few years and I bought it of one of the sons who lived at Newby Bridge, South Cumbria.
