It's not cheap now, gone are the days of using it to wash engines etc.

Kerosine is about 60 pence a liter if you buy 1000 liters.
Of course it attracts 5% fuel tax these days.
You could get Aviation A (jet fuel) from your local airport.

B&Q sell parrafin but try and find one of them older independant hardware stores dotted about as they sometimes sell it off a pump from 200 litre drums (sometimes bigger tanks are used)which are much cheaper per litre..

When I served my time as a HGV fitter we used to get a tanker in from the airport that carried Aviation fuel. One of the jobs we did often was fitting a new clutch and to do this we had to remove all the pipes that went under the gearbox, well one of the other fitters was always there to give a hand as he used what was left in the pipes as heating fuel for his greenhouse and he said he got a lot hotter flame using Aviation fuel then parraffin.
