Weak spark on JAP 2A
Gents,
I am restoring a JAP 2A and I'm getting a weak spark but not sure why.
When I turn over the engine with a drill I get a weak spark between the HT lead and the block but it has to be held very close. I have tried a variety of plugs and there is never a spark between the anode and the leg but if I get the plug close enough I get a spark between the block and the anode.
With a multimeter set at 20K ohms I get a reading of 3.86 between the coil stud and earth. There is a brand new condenser fitted. The points have been cleaned and are gapped at 0.015. Any suggestions as what to try next please?

Re: Weak spark on JAP 2A
I was in the process of swooping back plates when I found a loose connection on one of the wires going to the condenser from the coil. It must have broken when I took the old one off. 5 minutes with the soldering iron and I have a cracking blue spark.
