Just took a punt and got this cheap (I'm picking it up this week). The seller was told it's German and may have been a boat engine. To me the drive coupling looks like it may have been from a generator set-up. Does anyone know anything about the make ETC.

Seems strange having a Wico mag on if it's German? (Of course it may not be the original)

With help from a FB group for air-cooled engines it seems that this is a Sturmey Archer as fitted to some Ransome's mowers and crawlers.

That's my thinking, it's defiantly a mower engine and I was thinking either a Sturmey Archer or MAG
