Hi I brought a little jap engine and generator off a old boy up north and wondered if anyone can help with identity and maybe parts for it?

Looks like a JAP model 4 industrial (introduced 1937), perhaps copied from a Briggs & Stratton model A (under licence ?).

I don't think there are that many model 4 industrials about as JAP quickly replaced this engine with the 4A and 4B for use during WW2. 4A/4B are easier to find than this model.
