Alan in Essex Empty Alan in Essex

Post by Alanengine Sat Nov 21 2020, 17:27

New (old) boy here! Been interested in engines since a teenager and about 25 years ago rescued a Suffolk lawnmower engine from the tip. Stripped it down and discovered it was pretty tidy inside so put it back together after a valve grind, clean up and paint.
Mounted it on a base with an alternator with a view of engine days out, but never have!
Had a couple more since although my first us still the best.
Couple of weeks ago the itch started again and I ended up winning a non running Villiers 25HS (stuck exhaust valve) driving a 2kw generator which I am enjoying working on. It's all in bits now ready for new parts etc and a rebuild.
Looking forward to helping out where possible!

Alan

Hi Alan and a warm welcome to the forum. Please post a few pictures when you are able.
I am also a Villiers fan. Easy to fettle without machine shop and welding skills - both of which I sadly lack. Sad .
