Second last job to do hopefully.
Today I made up a exhaust from some pipe I had in the scrap box.   It's a bit protrusive I know but I might reposition it downwards if / when I find some pipe fittings.
Just need the mag to engine coupling now and when fitted and timed that should be it ready to fire up. Thumbs Up

That/s a nice job and well done I made one similar awhile ago and put a few S/steel pan scrubbers in side to make a lot less noise

Welding up old rotten motor car as a youngster with oxy acetylene  helped lots.
I treated myself to a wee TIG welder and found that if you can weld with an oxy acetylene torch then it's easy enough to get on with a TIG set. I'm certainly no welder but I do enjoy little jobs like this one. Very Happy
I like the idea of the s/steel pan scrubbers but too late this time round for me. Sad

The reason I mentioned a Robot was that I spent a couple of years with ABB Robotics and worked amongst other systems with Welding robots and your welding looked just like a robot had done it with a Tig Welder.

I'll take that as a compliment. Very Happy

Did you ever get involved with subsea robotic welding?
The Co "subsea offshore" that I worked for had a deep sea welding habitat that used a fully robotic TIG welding system although I had nothing to do with that side of things. Divers had to prepare the flowlines and the welding system in the de-watered habitat.
ABB is a huge Co. I know. Must have been an interesting job you had.

Ii was a compliment, was a service engineer with ABB, all the stuff I worked on was in car plants and their suppliers, either body assembly with massive spot welders or Mig and Tig welders. I've seen films of under sea welding, I would never be able to fit in a diving suit as there isnt one big enough for me to wear Very Happy

I did the same job at ABB in the late 80's, I think we were called Technical Support Engineers at the time, were you based at Bradwell Abbey?.

I knew of Bradwell Abbey, where I was was off of V6 south of the railway station, my brother Blair was at Bradwell Abbey and you most likely knew Pete King and Dave Hodges also Service engineers they then moved to the next site when I Joined.

I vaguely remember Blair, Pete King ran the service dept. and Dave Hodges was affectionately known as "Grumpy" Very Happy other engineers at the time were Alan Adams, Bill Knight, Steve Hollingsworth, Ken Jeavons and Richard Fenny with guest appearances from Dave Uttridge and John Couzens for ESAB stuff. I wonder how many are still with us?
