Help With Villiers Engine
Hi. I'm new to the forum and need a bit of help identifying the type and age of my Villiers engine. It's attached to an air compressor made by Mechanair, who I think were a Birmingham company but after that I don't know much.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks. Does anyone have a picture of a complete one so I can work out what's missing?

Hi Steve,
It seems that your engine is missing only the air filter box.
Even the original typeshields and yellow engine decal are present an in a good shape.
What is the reason that the fuel connection on the carburator is disconnected?
Also the carburator screws are loose. Transportdamage?
For parts I use mostly [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Not cheap but have no complaints about quality up till now.

All friendly and helpfull people and willing to look for a solution.
See pictures below for the air filter box.

Re: Help With Villiers Engine
Hi Steef. Thanks for the info. I'll look in to getting an air filter box, and a pull start, and seeing if she'll start up. She just appears to be covered in decades of gunk and needs a damn good clean. You should see the Mechanair decal on the tank, it's a proper classic.
The fuel pipe and bolts are loose purely because I started to remove it to get a better look at it and figure out what was missing but stopped and decided to take pictures as ask on here.

Re: Help With Villiers Engine
Any idea what type of pulley cover was on this as there appears to be a few types that would fit?

Re: Help With Villiers Engine
Hi Steve,
Don't know which kind of enginecover will fit. Because my Mk15 didn't have one originally.

Maybe the earlier mentioned suppliers can provide you the right information.
Regarding the starter rope. I've made these myself from a 4mm rope and piece of round wood.
It's an easy job and costed me around 1GBP in total.
Best regards,
Steef
