Why do magnetos just pack in
my coil went today on my wlb1 , just so i can get an understanding of a mag, what is the average life of a coil, and what causes it to go ?
Re: Why do magnetos just pack in
Ryan your answer to the life span on a coil is like saying how longs a peice of string.
It depends on how good the coils were wound in the first place.
Were they always kept in the Dry in its working life
When you store the engine for the winter is the air damp.
I take my coils of over the winterand bring them in doors.
This is one idea to make them last.
Rember they get hot when running al day and then cooling down then they get damp, corroshion sets in.
these are just a couple of reasons
