Thanks to Andy I now know its One of a pair sent to Alfa Laval of Brentford (on 23/4/51).

serial number 197126        is it a 1945? or 46
model number 282 D2H      and what is 282 means  D2H is it a 2hp hopper but it is a tank cooled top on it

This would suggest it's a late 1945. As the thread says if you contact David Edgington he will tell you the date of sale and who it was sold to. I asked him about mine recently (via email), and had a very prompt reply, couldn't ask for more.

Seeing all this dating on here could anyone date my lister d  which I got this weekend?
no,195162. spec,26dh. hp,1.5. rpm,700. also it is missing a long rod that works the tappets and valves and missing a starter handle. Does anybody have these parts for sale, I would be grateful

Hi All, I am trying to date my Lister D engine and was wondering if anyone can help me. The engine plaque has long since gone but I found a stamping on the flywheel which states: 1-96 25

I have just Bought this and have so much to find out and learn,and want to know about the best i can give and get out of it, am so happy ,i'm actually as they say around here "like a dog with two Dicks".My questiion to ye out there ,what age is my unit or when was it built ? The serial no is CS 5042, the Spec is 5/1/19/ 1, the other no is the Hp which is 5 , and the RPM 600, would app any information anyone can give that would help determine the age ....
