Two Lister D questions

Hi, I'm after some more information please.

I have one Lister D with the serial number: 3903 DH 2.  Is this an early one?
I have a second engine with serial 194778, spec 2CDHRS, it could be 26DHRS. should this be radiator cooled? It appears to have the standard oval hole in the top for water.  I do have a box of parts that obviously come from a radiator cooled Lister D. Is this a radiator cooled engine?

I have found the Lister dating chart and so have answered my dating question.  However I then found this.  The plate shows the serial t be 1 35194, there is a space between the 1 and the 3 but no /.  The HP is marked 1 1/2 not 1.5 as it is on later models.  I think that this engine must be from 1937.  Can anybody confirm this?

Spec 28 started in late 1945, the / has probably been mis-stamped and yours dates to late 1949.

Your engine serial no is 1/35194 and was made between July and December 1949, the first spec 28 was made on the 28/9/45.

Re 26DHRS 26 is the Spec, D the type. R in your case most likely means reverse rotation, R on later engines meant Radiator cooled, S I have no idea.

3903 DH 2 was made between Jan and June 1952 and 194778 was made in June 1945.
