Help and advice Please what type of metal / grade ?? should/or can get to make a pair of valve guides for a Lister A type and where can I get some from Thanks in advance

I believe the origional stull was a grade of cast iron that had an open structure that holds oil. I think it was known as iolite or oil tight though if I was machining them I would use a good grade of cast as I'm sure the amount of use we give the engines today wouldn't cause undue wear.

Sorry I meant to say you can buy some from stationary engine parts Ltd if you want though they are not cheap.

Many thanks Kev I am aware S E Parts have these guides but at £72-00 a pair will spoil a hobby we love and take away our skills I/l have to work on this the right material and bit of time by the lathe . something will turn up and hopefully a few £ cheaper thanks again

I had some made from a cast iron slug, nothing fancy. Worked well.
