paz1 compression leaver loose

Hi Rylstonedog here Newby. Please can anyone tell me what i have broken on my PAZ1
The compression lever has gone all limp and loose. And when i removed the lever housing
I found on the end the lever a small ball nothing broken inside. cant see what the ball does
is there something missing from the end of the ball. or is it something else

is there a pin that goes through the lever and shaft?
