Lister D piston installation

Yet more issues! This time, does the piston have to go in a particullar way? It's been bored out + 0.40 with that marked on one side of the piston, is that an indication?

The piston will fit either way, however the con rod should be fitted so that the 'flat' side of the big end (the bush should protrude slightly on the opposite side) is facing against the crank web.

Thanks! First installed it the wrong way round, unfortunately after countering up the strength to lift the flywheel onto the shaft, sorted now though! The engine should be running at some point in the near future but that will be only half way done, got so fed up with stripping paint and priming I've decided to prime everything, throw it together and run it then repaint. Strange I know!

thats what i do paint some bits on the rebuild ,get it running and set up
then strip back and finish the job right, you do a better job when you know its a running "well i do any way" Laughing
